Rowing Success for Imtex Engineering Manager
This summer, Engineering Manager at Imtex Controls, Paul Turner, lead a crew of rowers from Grosvenor Rowing Club in Chester to success at one of Britain’s premier rowing events.
Paul, a Qualified British Rowing Coach, who volunteers as a rowing coach during his spare time, helped a Women’s Coxed Four from the Grosvenor Rowing Club to win the Club Fours event at Women’s Henley Regatta, beating 34 crews along the way. The win, at one of the two major Henley Regattas that form the focus of much of the domestic rowing scene in the UK, was the Club’s first in its 145 year history.
As an additional bonus, the win led the crew to be selected to row for England at the Home International Regatta held in Cork, Ireland at the end of July. The four, which is coxed by Sarah Turner, Paul’s wife and fellow Imtex employee, performed well, narrowly losing out to a crew of Scottish based GB International athletes.
